How to disable Volume buttons in Android Devices?

Blocking volume buttons might be done for various reasons, such as preventing accidental presses, childproofing the device, or ensuring uninterrupted operation in specific scenarios. Complex actions like entering safe mode or performing hard resets require specific button combinations. The administrators can either enable or disable the volume buttons based on their requirements.

Pre-requisites

Android devices must be running Android 6.0 or later versions and must be provisioned as Device Owner



Process for disabling Volume button through the WeGuard Enterprise Portal

  1. Login to the WeGuard  Console .
  2. Click on  Policy Groups  and choose the  Policy.

  1. Go to General, and find DISABLE VOLUME ADJUSTMENT.

  1. Toggle it ON and click on the SAVE AND CONTINUE to impose the policy on devices.          


Note: The end user will not be able to perform any actions with the volume buttons.
