Admin Actions and Device User Actions

App Management options are available in the Private Store and Play Store sections of WeGuard.
This section also outlines the Admin Actions and Device User Actions available on the app management page.

Admin Actions 

  • Hide apps.
  • Reinstall apps.

Device User Actions allow users to 

  • Clear application data.
  • Reinstall applications on the devices.


Admin Actions - Hide apps in Android

  • Log in to the WeGuard Console.
  • Navigate to Policy Groups and Select the Policy.



  • From the App Management section. Toggle on the Hide button to hide any applications.



  • Click on Save and Continue.

Notes

When an application is hidden, it will not be visible on the device, and cannot be accessed by the device user.


Admin Actions - Reinstall the Apps

  • Navigate to Policy Groups and Select the Policy.





  • From the App Management section. Toggle on the Re-install.





  • Click on Save and Continue.

NotesWhenever the administrator enables the reinstall option, the selected application will be removed from the device, and the application will be installed automatically.

Bulk Actions - Hide All Apps in the Policy

  • Navigate to Policy Groups and Select the Policy.




  • In the App Management section, you will find the Bulk Actions option.




  • Click on Bulk Actions, where you will see two options: Admin Actions and Device User Actions. Under Admin Actions, select Hide All Apps. Check the box and click on Save and Continue.





Notes

All applications included in the policy will be hidden. Admins can also hide one or multiple applications individually, based on their requirements.


Bulk Actions - Reinstall All the Apps

  • Navigate to Policy Groups and Select the Policy.




  • In the App Management section, you will find the Bulk Actions option.




  • Click on Bulk Actions, where you will see two options: “Admin Actions” and Device User Actions. Under Admin Actions, select Reinstall All Apps. Check the box and click on Save and Continue.




NotesFor work-managed devices, the only bulk action available is Reinstall all apps.

Device User Actions - Permitting the User to Reinstall All Apps

  • Navigate to Policy Groups and Select the Policy.




  • From the App Management section, click on the Bulk Actions option. Then select Device User Actions and choose Reinstall All.



  • Click on Save and Continue.

  • Once the policy is synced to the device, the user can long-press on any application to view the option to Reinstall the application.

  • Tap the Reinstall option to reinstall the application on the device.

NotesThis feature is available for the fully managed (Kiosk devices).

Device User Actions - Permitting the User to Clear All App Data

  • Navigate to Policy Groups and Select the Policy.




  • From the App Management section, click on the Bulk Actions option located at the top right corner. There, you will find Admin Actions and Device User ActionsUnder Device User Actions, select Clear All App Data.




  • Click on Save and Continue.

Notes

Users will be able to clear all the application data from the kiosk screen.
