Device Wipe Remotely in WeGuard – Retain Device Identity & Policies

WeGuard provides administrators with the ability to wipe a device remotely without deleting its IMEI or Device ID from the console. This feature allows devices to retain their assigned policy configuration upon re-enrolment, making it ideal for field replacements, upgrades, or redeployment scenarios.

Wiping the Device.

  • Log in to the WeGuard Console.

  • Navigate to the Devices page and select the device to be wiped.

  • Select Wipe Device under Actions.

  • A confirmation prompt will appear: Enter the wipe command.

    • Copy and paste the command highlighted in the statement in the pop-up window. E.g. WIPE 123456789101112

  • Check the box to remove FRP. If FRP is enabled. Then click Yes to proceed.

Info
If If FRP is enabled and "Remove FRP" is not selected before wiping, the device will be locked and require the previously synced Google account credentials to set up again.

InfoWiping the device resets it to factory settings, but its Device ID remains in the WeGuard console, allowing it to receive the assigned policy configuration upon re-enrollment.
