Windows - How to Wipe a windows device using WeGuard console.

Hello and Welcome to WeGuard Enterprise Visual Knowledge-base Series.
In this KB article, We will explain how to Wipe a Windows device from the WeGuard Enterprise Console.

  • Login to WeGuard Console with valid credentials.
  • From the left navigation menu, click on "Devices”.
  • Notice list of devices enrolled in the account. Refer to the picture below.

  • Since this article is about Windows devices, let’s filter it down by selecting Windows from the dropdown on ‘View Devices by type’.

  • Now you shall see all the windows devices available in your account.
  • Please click on the Device ID of the device which you want to wipe, you’ll be taken to the device page where you can see options like Wipe, Restart etc.

Note: In order to perform Wipe, It’s not mandatory for the device to be online.
  • Please click on the ‘Wipe’ option as shown in the above picture. Once clicked, You’ll see a couple of options as shown below.
    • Do Wipe action of CSP: This option will delete the device when it’s Online.
    • Do Wipe Protected action of CSP: This option will delete the device when it’s Online. In case it's offline, it keeps checking for device availability and once it’s online, it will wipe the device.

  • Once any one of the above options is selected, then please click Yes.
  • Next, You’ll see the below screen where you’ll need to enter the text as shown, in our case it's ‘WIPE 8FE1DA808627644FB0AD28FF60DDABAB’.

  • Once we enter the text, please click Yes. Once clicked, You’ll see a message at the bottom of your console saying ‘Successfully sent Command’.

Note: The above action cannot be undone, and it will wipe the device along with WeGuard MDM agent.
  • Once the device receives the command in about a few minutes, it will be reset and restarted.
  • The device can then be set up as a new device for normal usage.
