Notifications - How to enable notifications in kiosk mode?

Hello and Welcome to WeGuard Enterprise Visual Knowledge-base Series.

In this KB article, We will explain how to enable the notifications section on the device that is in kiosk mode.

  • Login to WeGuard Console with valid credentials.

  • From the left navigation menu, click on "Policy Groups".

  • Notice the list of default policies along with the policies you have created (if) to meet business needs.

  • Choose a desired policy to enable the feature. For this article, as an example we are using the "Default Android Kiosk" group which is Kiosk policy. Click on the policy group name to go into policy details.

  • By default the "General" tab is shown. Scroll down to "Advanced".

  • Click on Advanced and scroll down to find "Disable WeGuard Notifications."

  • By default the toggle button is on, which means notifications wouldn't show up on the kiosk device. Turn off the toggle button, as shown in the below picture.

  • Once the device receives an updated policy, notice 'Notification Icon (bell icon)' in the custom status bar.

Note: Make sure custom status bar is set to "Show" in the general category

  • Now on the device, the user will be able to see the system and specific app notifications received on the device.

  • Clicking on the notification icon, the user will be navigated to the notification log as shown below.

  • Counter on the notification icon indicates the number of unread notifications on the device.

  • To read the complete notification just tap on the notification. Once a message is tapped, it will be marked as read.

  • Likewise to mark all notifications as read, click on the "Mark all as read" button at the bottom.

  • Once a message is read, the counter on the notification icon will be decremented by one.

  • If "Mark all as Read" is clicked, the counter will be reset. Refer below picture.

  • Swiping notification towards left will enable delete option as shown below.

  • Once a message is deleted, it will no longer appear in the list.

  • Likewise to remove all notifications at once, click on "Delete all".
