Kiosk Mode: How to customize kiosk unlock passcodes on the WeGuard Enterprise Console?

In this KB article, We will explain how to customize kiosk unlock passcodes on the WeGuard Enterprise Console.

WeGuard platform provides multi-app mode functionality by kiosk-ing the device with WeGuard and enables an option to configure a set of applications needed for day-to-day activities. While the devices are kiosked with WeGuard, users will not have access to default system apps, settings, hardware buttons (like back, home) and notification panel as well. While locking the device with WeGuard provides security and a non-deviation atmosphere for users, the platform provides an option to exit kiosk mode by issuing a secret passcode. This passcode will be handy while troubleshooting an issue. In this article, let's see where the passcode can be configured and how to manage it.

  • Login to WeGuard Console with valid credentials.
  • From the left navigation menu, click on "Policy Groups".
  • Notice the list of default policies along with the policies you have created (if) to meet business needs.
  • Choose a desired policy to enable the feature. Make a note that this feature is available only for Kiosk policies.
  • For this article, as an example we are using the "Default Android Kiosk" group which is Kiosk policy.


  • Click on the policy group name to go into policy details.
  • By default "General" restrictions are shown. Scroll down to "Security".
  • Scroll down to the option that says “KIOSK UNLOCK PASSWORD”.
  • By default the system generates a random and unique 6 digit passcode.

  • In order to change the password, place the cursor and edit the unlock password as per the requirement and click on "SAVE AND CONTINUE".
  • Updated passcode shall be applied on the device once it gets the latest policy.
