Controlling Bluetooth connectivity is essential for maintaining both security and operational efficiency. Unrestricted Bluetooth can pose data leakage risks or allow unauthorized peripheral connections. WeGuard enables administrators to enforce specific Bluetooth states—ensuring devices stay compliant with organizational security standards while reducing user-end configuration errors.
WeGuard provides three distinct modes for managing Bluetooth connectivity:
| Policy Setting | Description | User Impact |
| Bluetooth ON | Forces Bluetooth to remain enabled at all times. | Users cannot toggle Bluetooth OFF. |
| Bluetooth OFF | Completely disables Bluetooth functionality. | Users cannot toggle Bluetooth ON. |
| NONE | Removes administrative restrictions. | Users can freely toggle Bluetooth ON/OFF as needed. |
Follow these steps to configure Bluetooth behaviour for your device fleet:
Select Policy: Navigate to Policy Groups in the left-hand sidebar and select the specific policy you wish to modify.
Access Bluetooth Settings: * Click on the General tab.
Scroll down or search for the Bluetooth Settings section.
Select Configuration: Choose the desired state (ON, OFF, or NONE) from the dropdown or toggle menu.
Save: Click Save at the top of the page.
Peripheral Connectivity: If you set Bluetooth to OFF, users will be unable to use wireless headsets, keyboards, or printers. Ensure your workflow does not require these peripherals before disabling.
Compliance Enforcement: Using the Bluetooth ON setting is ideal for tracking solutions or contact-tracing applications that require a constant Bluetooth signal.
Sync Delay: Changes are pushed over-the-air (OTA). Ensure devices are connected to Wi-Fi or Cellular data to receive the updated policy immediately.
