WeBox - How to hide Google Drive (GDrive) folder links?

Hello and Welcome to WeGuard Enterprise Visual Knowledge-base Series.
In this KB article, We will explain how to hide the Google Drive folder links.

We have added another layer of security to secure your data on Google Drive. Let's see what it is. Previously when you shared files from Google Drive, the shareable link was being displayed on the WeBox app on the device. There is a possibility of accessing the data outside company premises as the link is clearly visible for mobile users. In the latest upgrade, a new setting is introduced through which visibility of links can be controlled. Let's see how to make it work.

  • Login to WeGuard Console with valid credentials.
  • From the left navigation menu, click on "WeBox”.
  • You will notice a list of policy groups which are nothing but the groups you created in the Policy Groups page. Select any policy, Here Default Android Kiosk is selected as shown in the screenshot.

  • Click on the settings.

  • You will see the "Show Links" option (highlighted below). It is unchecked by default. Which means, mobile users will not be able to see URLs.
Note: This is applicable for Dropbox and Google Drive.

  • Below picture depicts Google Drive folders on console along with links.

  • Below picture depicts "no shareable link displayed" for Google Drive on WeBox app on the device.
