Security - How to Disable Power Off Button?

Hello and Welcome to WeGuard Enterprise Visual Knowledge-base Series.
In this KB article, We will explain the process of disabling the power off option on the device on WeGuard Enterprise Portal.
Note: This feature works differently on different OEMs and some OEMs it may not work.

Please go through the following to check on how to disable the power off button.

Also note that any changes made as shown below, will be reflected to ALL devices within the policy.

  • Login to https://cloud.weguard.io with valid credentials.

  • Go to Policy Groups by clicking on the Policy Groups option on the left bar.



  • Select the policy from the list, here we picked a Kiosk policy.

  • In policy pop-up, click on “Policy” tab.



  • Go to the “Security” section and scroll down to find the “Allow Power Off” option. By default, the option is enabled, meaning mobile users can power-off their devices.



Note : As a prerequisite, Device needs to be connected to stable network

  • In order to disable, click on the toggle button. Please refer to the screen below.



  • Now click on “SAVE AND CONTINUE” and make sure the changes are reflected on the device.



  • Once the policy is updated on the device, mobile users will not be able to power off the device.

  • As mentioned in the top section, this works differently on different devices. For example, on

    • Samsung devices – “Security policy prevents turning off” is displayed if power off is disabled.

    • LG devices – “Power off option will be disabled” is displayed if power off is disabled.
