Security - How to Disable Factory Reset?
Hello and Welcome to WeGuard Enterprise Visual Knowledge-base Series.
In this KB article, We will explain how to Disable/Enable Factory Reset option on WeGuard Enterprise Portal.
Note: This option is available ONLY on Kiosk and Work Managed policies. Make a note that, mobile users on Kiosk policy, will anyway, not have access to device settings and other apps as they will remain hidden in the background. For mobile users on devices with Work Managed policy/policies, device settings can be accessed, which means there is a scope for mobile users to factory reset the devices manually.
By default, factory reset is disabled, that means mobile users will not be able to factory reset the device manually as the option is set to true.
In case you want to enable the option please go through the steps as mentioned below.
Note: Any changes made as shown below, will be reflected to ALL devices within the policy.
As mentioned earlier, click on either kiosk policy or work managed policy. Here we picked a kiosk policy.
In the policy pop-up, click on the “Policy” tab and navigate to “Security”.
Note : We of course could not test all OEMs, so if you come across any OEM whose behaviour is deviant to what is explained here, please let us know.
