QR Code Enrollment - How to enroll Android devices using QR code?

QR code enrollment is one of the recommended methods for provisioning company-owned Android devices in Android Enterprise. It enables administrators to quickly enroll devices into kiosk or work-managed policies without requiring manual configuration during setup.

This method is supported on Android 7.0 and above and allows administrators to preconfigure Wi-Fi, language, time zone, and compliance settings directly into the enrollment QR code.

This article explains:

  • Configuring the QR code in WeGuard.

  • Enrolling Android devices using the generated QR code

Configure the QR code.

  • Log in to WeGuard Console

  • Go to Policies and select the Kiosk or Work Managed policy.


  • Go to QR code settings Tab

  • Configure the QR as per your requirement


By default, the following settings are available:

Setting

Description

Skip Encryption

Allows enrollment without encrypting the device.

Wi-Fi Config

Automatically connects the device to Wi-Fi during setup.

Locale & Time

Configures language and time zone.

IT Policy Compliance

Enforces settings such as location, Bluetooth, factory reset protection, safe boot, and screen capture restrictions.


  • Click on Save and Confirm Changes.




Enroll Device Using QR Code

Troubleshooting

QR Scanner Does Not Open

Ensure:

  • The device is running Android 7.0 or higher.

  • The device has been factory reset.

  • Tap the Welcome screen six times.

Device Does Not Connect to Wi-Fi

Verify:

  • SSID and password configured in the policy are correct.

  • The Wi-Fi network is available.

  • Proxy settings are properly configured.

Device Does Not Appear in the Console

Wait a few minutes for synchronization and refresh the Devices page.
