Disabling Screen Capture on Android Devices via WeGuard

Disabling Screen Capture on Android Devices via WeGuard

The Disable Screen Capture policy in WeGuard prevents users from capturing any on-screen content on managed mobile devices. When enabled, this policy blocks:
  • Native screenshot features (e.g., hardware button combinations or gestures)

  • Third-party screen recording and capture apps

This policy is especially useful for organisations that require strict data confidentiality and regulatory compliance in secure or controlled environments.

How to Disable Screen Capture

  • Log in to the WeGuard Console.
  • Navigate to Policy Groups and select the desired policy.

  • Go to the Security tab.
  • Toggle ‘Disable Screen Capture’ to ON.

    • Check the Allow WeSupport checkbox to make sure to view the screen in remote session

  • Click on Save and Continue.

Notes
Note: If Allow WeSupport box is not checked Admin will not be able to view the screen when the remote session is initiated.
On Device
  • When the user attempts to take a screenshot, the device will display the following message: "Can't take screenshot due to security policy."
