How to disable the Developer option in Android devices?

The Developer Options on Android devices are intended for advanced users and developers. They provide features such as USB debugging for app development, animation adjustments, and control over background processes, which help in debugging, testing, and optimizing applications.

However, enabling Developer Options can introduce several risks, including security vulnerabilities, potential misuse, device instability, app compatibility issues, data loss or corruption, possible warranty concerns, increased IT overhead, policy violations, and privacy risks.

To maintain security and ensure compliance, organizations often disable Developer Options on work devices.

Disabling the Developer option

  1. Login to the WeGuard Console.

  2. Navigate to Policies and click on the desired Policy.

  1. Navigate to General and find Disable Developer Options.

  1. Toggle it ON to disable and click SaveReview Changes, and then click Confirm and Save.

Info
Developer options will no longer be accessible on the device.
