App Management - How to create a web app

Creating a Web App - Andriod

A Web App is an application hosted on a remote server and accessed through a web browser, preferably Google Chrome. Creating a Web App in WeGuard enables administrators to provide users with seamless access to web-based applications directly from their devices without requiring a traditional app installation.

Creating a Web App

  • Log in to the WeGuard Console.

  • Navigate to Policies and select the required policy.

  • In App Management, find the "PlayStore" option and then click on the "+ Add App."

  • There would be two options prompted on the console; click on "Search In Play Store."

  • As per the image below, click on the globe icon that says "Web apps" and click on the "+" icon.

  • Enter the Title of the web app and also the URL in the respective columns, and also select the display type (In the below image, we have given the title as Google News, the URL is https://news.google.com, and the selected display type is standalone)

  • There is also an option that helps us upload an icon for the web app; just click on the "Upload icon" tab as shown in the image and select the icon from your PC

  • Click on "Create," and the changes would be applied. Then click on OK, and now the web app has been added to the list.

  • Once the Web app is added and is available, click on the Web app icon. Click on "Select App" and then click on "Done" and select Save Changes.

  • The web app created will be added to the policy.

  • Then click Save, review the changes, and select Confirm and Save.
